Mud Connector: Table of Contents

A brief introduction to the world of mudding as well as a breakdown of some of the more popular families of MUD.

The MUD Connector now offers a help desk for new and old users alike. We have several volunteers who are knowledgable in various areas of mudding and mud design. If you have questions about getting started, mud clients, building, coding, or anything else pertaining to muds feel free to use this service! I cannot guarantee we will have the answers, but we will certainly try to help!

We have finally put together a solid review team, and are presently scouring the net to provide you with quality mud reviews. Currently our list of completed reviews is small, but check back often as we will be posting new reviews regularly.

Every month the MUD Connector chooses a mud to showcase as its Mud of the month. For each MotM selection we have interviews with the gods/administrators, a history of the mud, and comments from players.

The MUD Connector is now taking advantage of push technology. By subscribing to our channel you can have our mudlist updates delivered to your computer, or opt to be notified when updates occur. See our subscribe page for details.

A simplified interface to our search engine which allows mud lists to be generated by category. New categories will be created upon request, mail your requests to the administrator.

The MUD Connector now offers an improved system for resource links, offering categorical breakdowns for various resources, a keyword search engine, and a form for allowing our users to suggest new resources for us to add. We hope you enjoy the new format and please feel free to suggest any urls that you feel would be of interest!

The MPD allows mud players from around the net to register their characters in a central location. The database is both browsable and searchable and each listing provides cross-reference links to help find players within the same region of the world or with similar interests! Register your characters today and you’ll be added to the database within a few days!

This is the main Jump Center for the Connector’s mud listings. The connections page provides links for all of our alphabetical listings, as well as links for displaying all the listings from any server type of your choice. Links are also available for the Top 20 system.

The Big List is a collection of all the muds contained in the Connector’s database. The list itself is an index, offering links to each mud’s listing, telnet links and homepage links (if available), the connection status of the mud (updated daily) and a link to the mud’s Connector statistics. The list is scrollable, offering an adjustable number of muds to list per page and offering direction buttons to navigate through the index.

The MUD Connector offers two ways to search our database(s). The first is our Simple Keyphrase Search which allows you to scan our standard database for the keyphrase of your choice! The second, our Advanced Search, offers a powerful search interface to help you find specific muds based on your preferences. Both search systems can accessed by pointing your browser to the above link.

Are graphical MUDs more your style? Check out our small, but growing list of graphical multi-user dungeons. This section of the site is brand new and as of yet still very small, but keep checking back as we hope to expand our list continuously.

Join other Mud Connector users in discussion! We offer several specific areas, including forums for mud builders and mud coders, an area for sites needed or sites available postings, an area for posting reviews about specific muds or requesting reviews. We also offer a general discussion area for conversations not fitting any of the other areas.

Not sure which mud to try? Take a chance with the Random mud link generator! By loading this page a random mud connection link will appear, as well as a link to the mud’s listing (for those who do not care for surprises).

We are trying our best to keep the Connector’s listings as up-to-date as possible. This means continual house-cleaning, removing the muds which are not reachable or no longer running. We run a spider daily to help us find the muds which are consistently unconnectable. When a mud is removed from the database or flagged as being unreachable we’ll record the event on this page.

We welcome mud administrators and other authorized people to submit their mud. Please feel free to use the online submission system to also update existing listings and send us site changes and other similar requests.

Your comments and suggestions are more than welcome! Many of the recent improvements and system upgrades have been made because of your ideas!
